Canada’s immigration system has recently undergone significant changes, opening up new opportunities for individuals seeking to immigrate to the country.

These changes have particularly impacted 16 professions, which have now been reclassified under TEER 3, placing them at a similar level to NOC B occupations. As a result, individuals working in these professions now have the option to immigrate to Canada through the Express Entry system or various provincial programs that require this level of qualification.

The inclusion of these professions in TEER 3 means that individuals can now pursue immigration through Express Entry, a streamlined pathway for skilled workers to obtain permanent residency in Canada. Among the professions now eligible for Express Entry are payroll administrators, dental assistants and dental laboratory assistants, nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates, pharmacy technical assistants and pharmacy assistants, elementary and secondary school teacher assistants, sheriffs and bailiffs, correctional service officers, as well as by-law enforcement and other regulatory officers.

In addition to the professions mentioned above, other occupations that fall under TEER 3 and are now eligible for immigration through Express Entry include estheticians, electrologists, residential and commercial installers and servicers, pest controllers and fumigators, other repairers and servicers, transport truck drivers, bus drivers, subway operators, and other transit operators, heavy equipment operators, and aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors.

However, it is important to note that alongside these positive changes, three categories of professions are no longer eligible for immigration. These categories include other performers, program leaders and instructors in recreation, sport, and fitness, as well as tailors, dressmakers, furriers, and milliners.
