Britain has announced that it will provide 75 fully-funded scholarships to Indian students who wish to study in the United Kingdom. Scholarships will be granted through collaboration with other businesses. Scholarships will be available beginning in September 2022. The scholarships are being offered in honour of India’s 75th anniversary of independence.
Chevening scholarships
The programme will offer Chevening scholarships, which are available for any Master’s degree for one year. Students can study any subject at a UK university. The British Council will additionally provide 18 scholarships to women studying the following subjects:
- Science
- Technology
- Engineering
- Mathematics
In addition, six English scholarships will be granted. According to the UK government, the number of fully-funded scholarships for one-year Master’s programmes is the highest.

These expenses are available for a one-year Master’s degree. Candidates must also have two years of job experience. According to the most recent official statistics, approximately 108,000 study visas were given to Indian nationals in March 2022.
