Canada has over 100 immigration schemes, but some have recently received attention.

Why?

In 2022, the following people will be granted permanent residency in Canada: Because the federal skilled worker draws have been discontinued, the nomination systems of the provinces have been the most expedient way to get permanent residency in Canada. So, which provinces make it the most straightforward for non-Canadians to gain permanent residency?

There are numerous nominee programs, each with its own set of eligibility requirements. Provinces can employ PNPs to meet their own unique immigration needs. Because PNPs are frequently utilized to fill labor shortages, individuals with experience in high-demand occupations will be given preference.

We are frequently asked if the Canadian Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is the easiest for international applicants to navigate. While many PNPs require candidates to have a connection to their provinces, such as a job offer, work experience, or a degree, some programs accept individuals solely on the basis of their ability to remedy labor or demographic deficits.

These are the four provinces where foreign candidates will have the most success.

Alberta PNP

Alberta, Canada’s western province, is home to some of the most successful cities in the country, including Calgary and Edmonton. Because of its thriving job market and outstanding educational system, Alberta is a desirable province for newcomers.

The Alberta Express Entry stream selects candidates for a provincial nomination from the federal Express Entry pool. One of the main benefits of this stream is that Express Entry applicants with CRS levels as low as 300 are examined, which means that a larger number of people in the pool will be eligible for a Notification of Interest from the province.

It should be noted that a CRS score of more than 300 does not guarantee entry into Alberta’s Express Entry program. The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program releases the CRS score of the lowest-ranking candidate from each round of invites, but not the additional targeted criteria. The following elements may boost a candidate’s chances: an eligible relative who is an Alberta permanent resident or citizen; a job offer or work experience in Alberta; and a completed post-secondary credential from a Canadian university.

Alberta’s Express Entry program makes use of the federal Express Entry system. Receiving a provincial nomination increases an applicant’s CRS score by 600 points, essentially guaranteeing them an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for PR in the next Express Entry draw. Because of its low CRS requirement, Alberta is usually regarded as one of the easiest places in Canada to receive PR.

Human Capital Priorities in Ontario

Many people are drawn to Toronto and its expanding tech-jobs sector, making Ontario Canada’s most popular immigration destination. As a result, the province has a sizable quota for supporting newcomers in gaining permanent status via PNP channels.

Despite having one of the country’s largest immigrant quotas, Ontario aims to bring in even more immigrants. To help alleviate the province’s labor shortage, Ontario’s Labour Minister Monte McNaughton recently proposed increasing the number of immigrants admitted under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) from 9,000 to 18,000 persons.

The Human Capital Priorities Stream in Ontario is an excellent option for people who live outside of Canada. This stream prioritizes talented candidates who can fill skilled job openings in the province.

The Human Capital Priorities also takes advantage of the federal Express Entry system. To be eligible, candidates must have an active Express Entry profile with a CRS score of 400 or higher. Ontario reviews all Express Entry profiles and invites specific profiles to apply to the PNP, typically based on a group of NOC codes and a specific CRS range.

In 2021, Ontario invited a total of 6,259 candidates under the Human Capital Priorities stream. Approximately half of the invitees were chosen through the OINP’s targeted tech draw.Ontario also has a PNP path for French-speaking Skilled Workers with Express Entry profiles. If you have intermediate to advanced French skills, this program may be a suitable option for you.

International Skilled Worker in Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan, located in Canada’s prairie region, has long been a popular immigration destination due to its strong economic growth and job opportunities. The Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker PNP aims to attract people with experience in in-demand occupations in the province. To select candidates for the International Skilled Worker stream in Saskatchewan, an Expression of Interest (EOI) approach is used.

To file an EOI, applicants must have at least one year of experience in an occupation that is not on SINP’s Excluded Occupations List. Candidates must also have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be fluent in English or French.

Candidates must also have completed at least one year of post-secondary education and be fluent in English or French. Candidates must achieve Saskatchewan’s minimum eligibility requirements, which include a minimum of 60 points on their Points Assessment Grid, in order to submit an EOI profile. The submitted profiles are then considered in one of SINP’s EOI draws. Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker has two tracks for international candidates. The Saskatchewan Express Entry stream, for example, requires that you have an active Express Entry profile in order to apply. There is also the In-Demand Saskatchewan Occupations stream, which does not require an Express Entry profile.

Stream of Labour Market Priorities in Nova Scotia

Nova Scotia is a province in eastern Canada that borders the Atlantic Ocean. The province’s proximity to the seaside, low cost of living, and laid-back lifestyle make it an excellent choice for many potential newcomers.

Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities also selects candidates straight from the Express Entry pool. Because it usually accepts profiles with no ties to the province, this stream is regarded as one of the simplest PNPs for overseas candidates to receive PR.

Nova Scotia does not make public the occupations or qualifications that will be targeted prior to admission rounds, but they do routinely admit persons who have no ties to the province. To be considered, candidates must have an active Declare Entry profile and express an interest in Nova Scotia.

Those who get an invitation from Nova Scotia might apply to be nominated by the province. Because the stream uses the Express Entry technique, successful nominees gain an additional 600 points toward their CRS score. These additional points almost always result in an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a federal Express Entry lottery.
