Now that you are aware of the employment available to Indians in Australia and the typical wage you can expect to earn there, let’s examine how to begin your job hunt in Australia.

Here are the 3 most important suggestions for seeking employment in Australia:

1. Immigrate to Australia on the basis of a Skilled Visa

Australia’s Skilled Migration Routes:

189th Subclass

The Skilled Independent Visa, also known as Subclass 189, is a Permanent Residency visa that allows you to settle in Australia without a job offer or state sponsorship.

A positive skill assessment report and good English proficiency are the main requirements for this visa. This visa type is popular among foreign nationals because the eligibility criteria are minimal.

190th Subclass

The Skilled Nominated Visa, also known as Subclass 190, is a Permanent Residency Visa that allows you to live and work in Australia indefinitely. However, as the name implies, this visa requires the applicant to have a state nomination in order to be eligible to apply.

482nd Subclass

Employers can use this visa to address labour shortages by bringing in skilled workers from around the world to fill appropriate vacancies in Australia’s job market. You can stay in Australia for a maximum of four years with the Subclass 482 or Temporary Skill Shortage visa.

2. Apply for Skills Evaluation

Relevant skills assessing authorities give skill assessment reports. A skill assessment authority is an agency that examines if a candidate’s skills fulfil the requirements for a particular occupation. It allows you to demonstrate your credentials globally.

These are some of the Skill Assessing Authorities:

December 15, 2020: The New South Wales (NSW) area of Australia has revised its list of occupations for Subclass 190 and 491.

  • For the Subclass 190 visa, the region is urging that applicants with an Expression of Interest seek for nominations solely from present residents.
  • As for Subclass 491, the number of regions has increased from eight to thirteen, hence increasing the prospects of visa applicants.
  • Applicants for the Subclass 491 visa have the option of applying under one of three streams to become eligible for nomination from this region:
  1. Working and living in rural NSW
  2. Recent research in regional New South Wales
  3. Living and working outside regional New South Wales.
