829 people have been invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada. All of the candidates were asked to participate in the Provincial Nominee Program via Express Entry. Candidates must have a minimum CRS score of 772 points to be considered.

Because candidates can get 600 points as soon as they receive a provincial nomination, the score has been kept high. The minimum score is 172 points without these points. The previous draw had a score of 782 points, and 787 people were invited.

CEC and FSWP draws will resume in July

The Canadian Immigration Minister, Sean Fraser, has announced that the Canadian Express Class lottery would begin in early July. In addition, the Federal Skilled Workers Program will begin in July. The new Express Entry draw will take six months to process.

Prior to the pandemic, IRCC only held PNP draws on a very rare basis. The candidates were chosen based on their greatest test results and could be eligible for any program. When the pandemic broke out, the IRCC began to recruit applicants through a CEC draw. The CEC candidates were usually available in Canada, therefore there were no travel limitations.

Last year, this policy assisted Canada in granting permanent status to 405,500 people. In addition, IRCC has begun inviting individuals through the PNP in order to meet immigration goals.

Because the FSWP program was terminated in December 2020, no candidates have been invited since September 2021. This resulted in a large number of job openings and low unemployment. In the year 2022, Canada intends to welcome 55,000 permanent residents. This goal was half of the one set for 2021.

The Express Entry draw has been temporarily canceled in order to complete the temporary to permanent residence process. By 2024, the IRCC intends to invite 110,000 immigrants using Express Entry.
